Field exposure racks pass their tenth year of continuous data

Numbered wood samples on outdoor exposure racks

Field exposure racks pass their tenth year of continuous data. The detail below covers what changed, what it means day to day for treating plants and specifiers, and where the work goes next.

Where the work goes next

The laboratory network keeps adding capacity for the methods that customers ask about most. New methods are validated against the existing ones before they replace anything.

Inside the testing program

Every batch is sampled on the line and carried through the same analytical sequence: retention by assay, penetration by section, and a visual check against the reference set. Nothing ships on a result that has not been signed off twice.

What the data shows

Results are tracked against the running mean for the charge size and the season, so a drift shows up as a trend rather than as a single failed sample. That is what lets the plant correct a process before it costs a shipment.
