Inside Hubbell’s closed-loop copper recycling process. The detail below covers what changed, what it means day to day for treating plants and specifiers, and where the work goes next.

Where the work goes next

The closed-loop copper programme continues to expand, and the reporting around it gets more detailed each year.

Why it matters

Wood that lasts is wood that does not have to be replaced, and the carbon stored in a treated member stays stored for as long as the member stays in service. Extending service life is the most direct contribution the chemistry makes.

What we measure

Water, energy and waste are tracked per site and reviewed against the prior year rather than against a target set once and forgotten. The numbers that move are the ones that get attention.
